There are two important rules to be followed when photographing Red Kites:
Firstly, it is an offence to intentionally or recklessly disturb them during their breeding season. This topic is covered in more detail under the heading 'Red Kites and the Law'.
Secondly, the permission of the landowner should be obtained before a photographer leaves a public right of way and enters private land. This includes trespassing onto private land to place baits to attract kites into close range for photographic purposes.
